“The Spectre of Lonely Souls” will be the second full-length from Chilean thrashers Hellish. This is high-velocity, almost out of control thrash with a fog of evil hanging around it, as patented and perfected by South Americans going back to the mid-80s. Fans of their labelmates Ripper, or of course of Hellish’s debut album “Grimoire,” should find plenty to love here. Steeped in original-vintage speed metal with some of the intense atmosphere of proto-black metal, Hellish’s new album is in every way the best material yet from this young band.
